"The United States of America Army takes pleasure in presenting the Army Commendation Medal with Valor to Private Jerry Wang for heroic achievement in action while serving with defending forces in or around Velmolen, September 1944. During intense enemy machine gun and mortar fire, Private Wang repeatedly rushed back and forth between two separate fighting positions to administer first aid and revive the fellow gliders in his platoon. Private Wang's effective and timely medical support aided his platoon in maintaining a 10-15% casualty rate during each phase of the operation. His courageous act and initiative in his assignment was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Armed Services."
