Sergeant Kiley Sekulich
After failed attempts by battalion to secure the northern sector of Best, Kiley's squad received new orders from platoon HQ to move Southeast and establish a support by fire position upon the high ground overseeing the village of Best.  Kiley effectively ordered his men to clear through the surrounding area to secure the hilltop.  After securing this key terrain, Kiley's squad was able to effectively suppress the enemy positions dug into the cliff face overlooking the town.  Due to Sgt. Sekulich's quick and decisive actions on 06 April 2019, he has been awarded with the Soldier's Medal.



Corporal Donald Wilson
While attempting to assault an AA position west of Best, Corporal Wilson quickly found himself pinned down by heavy enemy machine gun fire and resisting overwhelming enemy counterattack.  At this position, Cpl. Wilson killed numerous enemy dismounts in an open field to the east of his position.  S/Sgt. Payne was able to move up to Cpl. Wilson's flank.  During this time, Cpl. Wilson killed 2 assaulting Germans moving toward S/Sgt. Payne's position.  He was then shot down by machine gun fire.  Due to his heroic actions on 06 April 2019, Cpl. Wilson has been awarded the Purple Heart.

Private First Class Kenneth Sauter
After receiving new orders to secure a mountain top southwest of Best, Pfc. Sauter accompanied by his weapon's squad leader, Sgt. Wilson, established a hasty support by fire position.  After digging in, Pfc. Sauter effectively targeted and suppressed multiple enemy positions overlooking the town of Best.  These actions afforded the 1st Rangers to maneuver East and assault the town of Best from the South.  Due to Pfc. Sauter's quick action and effective machine gun fire on 06 April 2019, he has been awarded the Bronze Star.
