It seems "eh." I don't know how many times another copy-and-paste can be made. Yeah, there's some new stuff, but it's still the same - take over outposts, kill animals, craft stuff, get money, get more guns to kill more animals and take over outposts to craft more stuff to get money, etc. It's a cycle.

Actually, they changed up the formula a little bit.
A) Ya don't craft stuff, at least not like the other game. Crafting only for consumables like explosives or drugs to temporarly buff you in some way
B) They got rid of towers AND the mini-map. You now get your info through environmental cues and the locals
C) Its way more free-form in structure, a lot like Wildlands (But done a lot better in my opinion) where almost anything you can do helps you progress through the story, meaning you can do think you like and skip things you don't.
D) There is a lot more focus on characters you meet. Many are interesting and although many of the missions involve killing, they spice it up a bit. (Only downside, you're a silent propagandist so the main character doesn't get a lot of character)
E) The combat is the best in the series and although certain enemy types are a bitch, you can figure out your own ways around them. You can also bring allies along almost always, and not just guys with assault rifles. You have 9 specialists that all have a weapon and playstyle. Everything from a guy who used incendiary slug shotgun rounds to a guy who will do strafing and bombing runs IN A PLANE! (Proper planes and Helicopters are also things now)

And thats just off the top of my head. I could probably list like, 10 more things but that should give you an idea.

I posted that reply when I didn't have the game, and I caught myself making a bunch of stereotypes/assumptions. The game's a lot of fun. Crafting's still there, but it's much smaller, and only used for homeopathics or throwables, the combat's ok, but I'm on PS4. The story's interesting, but by far, Far Cry 3 will remain my favorite Far Cry to date.

Far Cry 5 is my first Far Cry game (for some reason). Thus far, it has been a lot of fun, but it seems more like a game I'll play when I'm just relaxing a bit. If I feel the urge to kill stuff in an Ubisoft game, I'll play Wildlands. 4 man squads vs 2 person co-op which only really matters because I've got a few friends that I like to play with when we're all free. Beyond that, I don't really know why, but the game play (in campaign) on Wildlands just feels better to me. It might be the being on 73 different side missions at once on Far Cry 5, but, again, I'm just not 100% sure.

Too late to change my opinion? lol. I was playing this morning, and I had a lot of fun using the mortar, but I played for about 45 minutes before I'd had enough for the time being.
