- TO - PRIVATE FIRST CLASS DONALD WILSON
- FOR - The United States of America Army takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Private First Class Donald Wilson for heroic achievement in action while serving with defending forces in or around Heelsum, Holland, September 1944. After his unit suffered significant losses Private First Class Wilson held his ground with 3 other men of the 193rd and the 6th GA. During the siege of the final house by the remnants of the 363rd VD, Private First Class Wilson held off the Germans as they assaulted the house, resulting in a full German squad lying dead on the 1st floor of the house, many not making it past the door. His courageous act and skill as an infantryman was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Armed Services.
