I was curious of other's thoughts on the flamethrower/flamethrower trooper? That being how good the flamethrower is, buffs/nerfs, etc. Just general thoughts of either the class or just the weapon alone.

flamethrowers can go to hell! lol jk i really dont like them in game, i know they were used but in the US Army they were used in major assaults to clear out bunkers and such, they weren't a common weapon to see in the field, i understand its usage in game terms, but in realism i really dont want to see them, unless your clearing a beachhead or assaulting a fortified hill. i think they really can be abused, and over used.

I don’t really mind it. It’s kinda OP, but you can shoot the tank and blow it up killing the operator, and everyone around him. Makes for a great way to keep the enemy from entering a doorway/opening for a little while. Actually, my first pistol kill was a guy with a flamethrower, and it was also my first time making one explode. I think that combined with the fact that it’s just as dangerous to the user and his team balances it out a bit. It’s definitely out of place though. Y’all are right about that.

Flamethrowers are a tool that I like to use very much, but without proper cover and support, it's quite hard to not die. I usually use them with smoke grenades and give that fear advantage on the battlefield; all of us knows how horrible it is to have a flamethrower go off next to you. But I still think it's not that OP or anything. It weighs a shitton so you'll be an easier target for everyone, there's the exploding aspect, and if you're out of range then you're pretty much done for.

I have made up my mind for sure on the flamethrower. I’m again’it! At the very least they should keep it to 1 per team, and maybe give em a little less fuel. I was on another server around 2am, and the British side held us off on Dunkirk because of the flamethrowers. Maybe if there was a mechanic where they couldn’t run through an area while they are lighting it up, that would help, but I was not thrilled that their flamethrowers were hiding and running through buildings and groups of us when we’d respawn and move toward the objective just destroying us. If you wanna do that with an MG, that’s one thing, but there’s nothing realistic about running in and around building firing a flamethrower the entire time. Too much damage with little to no danger of getting hit until you go out in the open. It’s not like everybody and their grandma ran around Europe with a flamethrower. Alright. I feel better now.

I think they just show up too much as well, does 2 flamethrowers make sense on say, Dog Red or Sicily? Sure these were major assaults but I don't think the Germans need their 2 as well, and in some maps it just doesn't make any sense at all. Why the hell would you be shooting flaming jets of fuel in close quarters (possibly flammable) urban areas? It just feels weird with at times 4 flamethrowers running around instead of feeling like a useful tool for a specific situation like hard point assault/defense for instance, we get these like weird, spammy napalm machines that can just farm kills in some cases

Good!... YES.... i can feal your anger flowing within you!! i think flamethrowers should be limited to only maps where there are concrete bunkers, because, thats literally why they were made. to combat bunkers and tunnels, in all out assualts. it doesnt make sense to have them in urban area, because i know they arent in the game but during the war civilians were still held up in there homes during urban engagements, yeah we did our best to warn them and get them out of town before we went all in but not everyone left, and if private snuffy is running around blasting his flamethrower every 5 seconds in areas of unknown, he could potentially be killing civilians... let alone annoying the hell out of  everyone else.

With all the noobs playing, I don’t mind it much anymore. They usually set themselves on fire with it every couple of kills. The bazook and panzerschrek are moving up my list though. Too many people using em to spawn camp now.
