Survival Games Co-op/Multiplayer

I've been wanting to pick up a game in the open-world/survival genre and try and dominate a server or just play against AI and have fun. I've been looking around in the steam store and noticed some of you have bought and played similar games. My question is, is there any of you who has any suggestions for a game to play? Or anyone that had the same thoughts for a game but hasn't played it?

Let me know what your thoughts are.

Try Rust, it'll piss you off a lot, but when you finally make it, it's so dang satisfying. If not that, look at stuff like 7 Days to Die, or Hurtworld.

I was also going to suggest Rust, I find it very fun.

I've dreamed of the day the men of the 193rd gather naked on the beaches and take over a server.

I've played rust with a whopping 158 hours on legacy, but just haven't had the mental capacity to handle the level of toxic children that that game had to offer on my own, as most of my friends have left that game for greener pastures.

But Cairn, I will help you, just for that seeing that glorious dream come true.

I'll meet you guys naked on a beach if the conditions are appropriate.
